The CSR Network was launched in 2004 with the aim of working more closely with the corporate sector in the promotion of sustainable development in the UAE. The CSR Network also aimed to bring into focus the local and regional efforts that are undertaken at the corporate level to further CSR in the Middle East. As the only multi-stakeholder forum the region, the CSR Network has been dedicated to the promotion of CSR, sharing best practices, exchanging ideas and forging lasting partnerships across sectors.
As an off- shoot of the Emirates Environmental Group, the CSR Network quickly became a steadily growing platform. It also became clear that in its ambition to become a true catalyst for CSR in the region, the CSR Network would eventually outgrow its position within the EEG.
Five years after its inception, we are delighted to report that the CSR Network can stand on its own. Thanks to the continuous support of its members and the overall growing realization that CSR is the only sustainable way forward for businesses across the region, the CSR Network has grown into a viable and successful entity.
We are proud to announce that the former CSR Network has now developed into the Arabia CSR Network, with a truly regional reach.
The Arabia CSR Network has always has, and will continue to enjoy the expertise, network and facilities that the CSR Network had to offer. In the same fashion, Habiba Al Marashi will continue to be personally involved with every aspect of the Arabia CSR Network and will ensure that the high standards of the Arabia CSR Network that its members are so used to, are maintained and exceeded.
The Arabia CSR Network will also continue to do what it does best; giving our members a platform to share CSR experiences, offer tangible added value through our workshops and seminars, and facilitate networking opportunities amongst regional leaders in CSR.
This new and exciting chapter of CSR in the UAE could not have been possible without the support, encouragement and active involvement of so many of our members.
We are grateful for their continued support in our aim to establish and encourage CSR as a core element of business across the UAE and the Gulf region and we look forward to building a bright and sustainable future for our economy, environment and society.
